FAQs On Sami The Seal Compressor Nebulizer System
What to Consider Before Using Sami the Seal Compressor Nebulizer System?
Sami the Seal uses Philips's highly-efficient sidestream nebulizer and a Tucker the Turtle character face mask to provide fast nebulizer treatment for children. Treatment times can be as short as six minutes.
Unpack Sami the Seal Nebulizer and check that you have all of the items listed and that nothing has been damaged. In the box, you will find a Sami the Seal compressor, a carrying case, a SideStream nebulizer, a medication cup, Tucker the Turtle mask, nebulizer tubing, nebulizer mouthpiece, and replacement air filters.
Carefully read the instructions before you use Sami the Seal Nebulizer for the first time.
The SideStream nebulizer provided with your Sami the Seal is reusable. It should be cleaned after every use and replaced according to the instructions for use.
Before your first use of the reusable SideStream nebulizer you should take it apart and boil each of the three parts together with the SideStream reusable mouthpiece. Use a solution of water with two to three drops of dishwashing liquid and boil for 10 minutes. After boiling, rinse under cold water and leave the pieces to air dry.
How To Set Up The Respironics Sami the Seal Pediatric Nebulizer System?
Place Your Philips Sami Seal unit on a firm flat surface near an electrical outlet and in an area where your child can be seated comfortably during treatment.
Plug the power cord into the electrical outlet.
Check and ensure that the filter is not clogged, dirty, or wet by unscrewing the filter cover and inspecting the filter inside.
Operating the unit with a dirty filter can impair the proper operation and cause damage.
How To Clean Sami The Seal Nebulizer?
The Philips Respironics Sami Seal nebulizer is easy to maintain. Simply wipe down the exterior of the compressor with a damp cloth on a regular basis. Sami the Seal uses filters to prevent dirt and other particles from entering the device. They should be checked regularly and replaced when discolored, wet, or damaged. Do not use Sami the Seal without the filters installed.
After every use, be sure to rinse the medicine cup to remove any excess medicine. Nebulizer parts should be cleaned daily. Once per week, disinfect nebulizer parts (except for tubing and facemask) by boiling them for 10 minutes with a few drops of dishwasher detergent.
Disposable SideStream nebulizers should be replaced every 14 days; reusable nebulizers are good for up to six months. Be sure to store them in a cool, dry place when not in use.
