SeQual Eclipse 5 Portable All-In Oxygen Concentrator Overview
The SeQual Eclipse 5 Portable All-In Oxygen Concentrator is one of the few portable oxygen concentrators that offers both continuous flow and pulse dose oxygen settings. Continuous flow settings range from 0.5 to 3LPM (liters per minute) and can be adjusted in increments of 0.5LPM. Pulse dose settings are offered on a scale from 1- 9, with Setting 1 delivering 16mL of oxygen per pulse and Setting 9 delivering 192mL of oxygen per pulse. Both settings ensure that users can get the most out of the Eclipse 5 portable concentrator no matter what their prescription needs are.
The Caire Eclipse 5 Portable Concentrator weighs 18.4 pounds with the battery installed, making it robust enough for home use. While it is one of the heavier portable oxygen concentrators on the market, the mobile cart that is included makes it very easy to move around and allows you to continue to be mobile while using oxygen. The cart features a telescoping handle that can be easily adjusted to whatever height you need.
Caire SeQual Eclipse 5 - AutoSAT Technology
The AutoSAT technology offered by SeQual Eclipse 5 monitors the breathing of the user and offers incremental therapy if inhalation is not identified. If the device does not sense an inspiratory effort when in pulse dose mode, a steady flow of oxygen would be administered while it tries to scan for a breath every 15 seconds. Additionally, AutoSAT technology adapts to the user’s breath rate and increases or decreases oxygen production as needed.
SeQual Eclipse 5 Portable Oxygen Concentrator - Robust Performance
The Claire SeQual Eclipse 5 has raised the performance bar for portable oxygen concentrators. It incorporates all the benefits of Eclipse 3 with next-generation internal components to make it more reliable. With its compact design, it is highly portable and the DC power operation provides the freedom to operate this portable oxygen concentrator at any available DC outlet. The Claire SeQual Eclipse 5 offers both Pulse flow settings and continuous flow settings up to 3 LPM.
This portable oxygen concentrator also provides a super setting of 192mL which can be achieved while connected to either AC or DC power. The battery can be charged even while operating at all flow settings up to 2.0 LPM with DC power.
SeQual Eclipse 5 POC - High Pulse Dose Output
This portable oxygen concentrator is capable of providing the highest pulse dose oxygen output setting for even the most difficult to treat patients. Pulse dose settings range between 1.0 to 9.0 LPM. Pulse dose settings between 1.0 to 6.0 go up in increments of 0.5 instead of the traditional increment of 1.0 allowing for greater flexibility in treatment. Pulse dose settings between 7.0 to 9.0, also called the super-bolus settings, are adjusted with an increment of 1.0.
The unmatchable power and flexibility of the Claire SeQual Eclipse 5 provide a cost-efficient solution to costly oxygen cylinders for oxygen therapy patients. This portable oxygen concentrator can act as both a portable unit and a stationary unit and is able to meet the high demand of hospitals and clinics.
Caire SeQual Eclipse 5 - Maintenance
In addition to replacing your nasal cannula and oxygen tubing on a regular basis, the Eclipse 5 oxygen concentrator requires regular maintenance of its air inlet filter. This filter requires daily inspection and cleaning once per week to ensure proper device function. To clean the filter:
- Remove the filter from the device.
- Wash it with warm water and a mild detergent.
- Rinse thoroughly and squeeze out excess water.
- Allow the filter to air dry completely.
- Replace filter into the device.
Cleaning tip: Keep a clean second filter ready as a substitute for use while cleaning and drying the first filter
The inlet filter should be replaced on an annual basis, with proper cleaning. If Eclipse 5 is being used in a particularly dusty environment, it may need more frequent cleaning and replacement.
To clean the exterior of the SeQual Eclipse 5 and its battery, make sure the device is unplugged. Use a damp cloth or sponge sprayed with a mild detergent and gently wipe down the device.
Do not attempt to perform maintenance on any internal components of the device. Contact our customer care team for assistance if your device is under warranty.
Proper Placement of the Caire Sequal Eclipse 5
Select a place for the unit that prevents smoke, fumes, and contaminants from entering the device. The right positioning of the unit should allow air intake at the top rear of the cabinet via the air inlet filter and allow exhaust air to escape the exhaust vent at the bottom left of the device freely. Place the system in such a way that you can hear any alarm warnings. Place the tubing of the oxygen so that it does not kink or get tangled.
Caire Sequal Eclipse 5 DC Supply Connection
The following applies when the Eclipse 5 is attached to the DC power supply in a vehicle:
When working with the DC power supply in a vehicle, the Eclipse 5 will operate at up to 3.0LPM on continuous flow.
The Eclipse 5 would charge the battery when in a car on DC power supply while operating at 2LPM or less on continuous flow.
If the Sequal Eclipse 5 battery is charged, the icon on the battery will look like a waterfall. If the battery of the Caire Eclipse 5 is not charged, the battery symbol will look solid.
Caire SeQual Eclipse 5 Portable Oxygen Concentrator Features
In addition to the numerous benefits listed above, the Caire Eclipse 5 offers a number of alarms to let the user know when something is wrong. The alarms are classed by low-priority (yellow LED) and high-priority (red LED). Examples of some alarms include:
- External power failure
- Low oxygen flow
- System malfunction
If you experience any of these alarms, consult the user manual or call our customer care team for support.
For the most effective and efficient therapy, the manufacturer recommends using a nasal cannula and oxygen tubing that is no longer than 7 feet in length. Longer oxygen tubing may result in the machine’s inability to detect inspiratory effort when in pulse dose mode.
The operating volume for the Caire Eclipse 5 concentrator is approximately 48 dBA, which makes it slightly louder than a library.
The Eclipse 5 portable oxygen concentrator is FAA-approved for in-flight use. Contact your airline in advance, as each airline has a different policy.
It is FAA cleared for usage during flights, cruise ships and other forms of transportation.
